Welcome to Stockholm 5 September 2010
The Tjejmilen is the biggest sporting event in Sweden for women with 26,000 female runners and joggers of all ages. The 27th Tjejmilen will be staged on Sunday 5 September 2010. Start at 12.00.
Everyone loves the scenic course through the royal park ”Djurgården” in central Stockholm. The distance is 10,000 metres. In this race every runner participates on her own terms and runs at her own pace, no matter how old or fit she is. In the Tjemilen all finishers are winners! Bands play along the course to create a joyful atmosphere for runners and spectators.
Scenic course
The course runs through the beautiful royal park “Djurgården” – an island in central Stockholm.
Live music along the course
Along the course rock bands, brass bands, samba orchestras and DJs will inspire you with music.
Medal and picnic
All finishers receive an exclusive commemorative medal. After the race all runners are served Swedish Cheesecake, fruit, mineral water and coffee.
Perfect service
All runners will be well looked after from start to finish: • Water and sports drink will be provided at the four aid stations. • One energy aid station offers some extra energy. • Medical aid at start and finish area and also at all the water aid stations. • Insurance against accidents which may occur during the race.
Ideal running conditions
The average temperature in Stockholm the first week of September is 17° C, equal to 58 degrees Fahrenheit. The humidity is around 50 per cent.
A race and a fun run
The Tjejmilen is a race and a fun run. You can choose if you want to participate in the The Tjejmilen is a race and a fun run. You can choose if you want to participate in the Competition Class or in the Fun Run. • Competition Class: You get your running time recorded in the result list. Your intermediate time at 5 kilometres is also recorded. In 2009, 48 per cent of the runners chose the Competition Class. • Fun Run. Here you jog at your own pace and check your own time on the digital clocks at the finish line. In 2009, 52 per cent of the runners chose the Fun Run.
Nine start groups
The start is divided into nine groups. Each group starts at 10 or 5 minute intervals. The first two start groups are reserved for the fastest in the Competition Class. Start group 3-9 is open for both Competition Class and Fun Run. On race day you choose your start group depending on your shape.
Qualifying limits for start group 1
For a runner in the Competition class to qualify for start group 1, you must have achieved one of these qualifying times during 2009 or 2010: • Sub 55 minutes in a 10 kilometre race. • Sub 2 hours in a half marathon race. • Sub 4 hours 15 minutes in a marathon race. When you enter, please specify where and when you achieved the qualifying limit. Name of race, date and your result. Start group 2 is for runners in the Competition Class who are aiming for sub 55 minutes in the Tjejmilen.
Entry
• Entry fee for the Competition Class is 38 Euro. • Entry fee for the Fun Run is 33 Euro. • Minimum age: 14 years old (born 1996 or earlier). • Deadline for entries: 24 August 2010. Maximum 28,000 entries will be accepted. You enter and pay by credit card on the internet.
The official 2010 training T-shirt
The official Tjejmilen 2010 training T-shirt is for sale to all runners who enter the race. The T-shirt is turqouise with the words “Jag tränar för Tjejmilen 2010” (I am training for the 2011 Tjejmilen) in white. The T-shirt costs 24 Euro, including postage. If you want to buy the T-shirt, add the cost to your entry fee. The T-shirt is available in the following women´s sizes: small, large, X large and XX large. Medium size is sold out. The T-shirt will be sent to you by post when we receive your entry.
